ECIS 2015 IS Women's Networking Event (all welcome!)

When: May 27th, 6pm - 7:30pm
Where: F3 (Fürstenberghaus)

ICIS 2013
IS Women's Networking Event
at ICIS 2013

Goals of the Event
Women remain a minority in the IS field. In order to tackle this challenge, IS Women's Networking Events have been held in various formats at the major IS conferences since 1980, but regular get-togethers of women faculty at ECIS take place only since 2012. Each year IS Women's Networking Events attract more and more participants who acknowledge them as being inspirational and supportive.

This year IS Women's Networking Event at ECIS 2015 is planned to be mostly informal and start with a topical keynote speech by Dr. Jenine Beekhuyzen. More than 100 participants have already registered for the event and you can still do it - it’s free and open to all (both female and male) conference attendees!

IS Women's Networking Event at ECIS 2015 is aimed at providing (a) an opportunity for female IS researchers (both PhD students and senior IS scholars) to meet and support each other and (b) a platform to discuss what can be done to tackle the challenge of female under-representation in IS.

Related Session on Diversity and Inclusion in the IT workforce

The aspects of Diversity and Inclusion in the IT workforce will also be discussed during the session held on May 28th 9am-10:30am at F103 (Fürstenberghaus), where presentations of two research papers (one of them is the Claudio Ciborra Award Nominee!) will be followed by a mini-panel “Seriously, where are the female keynotes?”. The session will be chaired by Dr. Jenine Beekhuyzen and Prof. Dr. Jason Thatcher. It will be fantastic to see all of you there!
